As described above, the cycle operates normally untill a certain point where it stops and and the Active light then starts flashing continuously (no pauses) untill you either turn the machine off or start a new cycle. The instruction manual states that this is a fault code that indicates the cause could be one of three things: Water tap not turned on, Supply hose kinked or trapped, or Strainers in supply hose clogged. I have cleaned and checked all of these and I'm confident there is no issue with the water supply because the machine will fill with water at the start of the wash cycle and also if I select a rinse cycle the machine will fill, rinse and drain properly. As I said the cycle stops at the same point every time, I think it is at the end of the detergent wash cycle after it has drained and at the begining of the first rinse sequence. If the water level does not reach the correct height in a certain time, it thinks the water supply has a problem and perhaps this is what is happening. As you have already stated, the hose filters are clean, the machine fills, there are no kinks etc etc,,, so this is the only other alternative to the above fault code. When the machine fills, is it filling quickly.Are the taps turned on all the way with sufficient pressure etc??? Worst case scenario, the inlet valve may be wearing out. They generally sit there holding town mains water pressure their entire life, as most people do not turn the taps off when the machine is not in use etc. The valves wear out, they fill okay on the initial fill, but when it comes to rinse and spray rinsing, it is a different story,,, Also, is the detergent dispensor clean and passing water quickly. Also, if I start a sepparate rinse cycle the machine fills quickly and that cycle works fine. I too initially suspected the electric solenoid inlet valves. There are two of them and I suspected there might be a problem with the one for rinsing. However I think that both the wash and rinse water pass through the same valve. I suspect this because I think the second valve is only used for a pre-wash function. Also because when I select a rinse cycle the machine fills normally. When it does fill it fills fast and normally, the problem seems to be isolated to this particular point in the wash cycle i.e. after it has washed and drained and just prior to rinsing. The fault code is also pointing towards an inlet valve problem. I have the service manual here, it also backs up this theory. The active light will only flash if there is an inlet water problem. If you have cleaned the filters, and checked the water supply, then it has to be the second valve. I cannot think of any other explanation. The only way to know for sure, is to replace the valve assembly and test the machine. Unfortunately it has made no difference at all. The machine still stops mid cycle when it realises that it has'nt filled with rinse water and the Active light then starts flashing and nothing else happens. I checked and re-checked the wiring to the inlet valve solenoids and they look fine and well connected. As I have said before, after this fault occurs I can switch to the rinse cycle and the machine will rinse and spin. Where do you think the fault could be. Are there any other sensors on the machine that could be giving a false reading. There was also no guarantee that the new controller would definately fix the problem. It did fix the problem and the machine is now functioning correctly. With your advice I was able to repair the machine without the cost of a serviceman call out fee. Otherwise it was a worthwhile pursuit and I have a great sense of satisfaction in having repaired the machine myself. As for me, I carry the spares and could have fitted and tested the machine without charging you for the parts if it didn't resolve the problem initially. I have the ability do to this as I carry the parts and unfortunately you do not. This is the downside of fixing your own appliance I guess. Many times I have told people that if the repairs didnt work, then you should not have to pay for those parts,, labor only,, etc. Im sorry about the cost of the inlet valves,, I guess on a good point you have a spare set and after 8 years of regular use, you will need to use them at some point in time, no doubt. You could always Ebay them maybe. Congratulations anyway, you still saved a lot of money and fixed the machine yourself, something to be proud of, that's for sure. Compare all consumer-view South East Queensland, QLD 14 reviews 11 likes I did have to get it serviced and some parts replaced in about 2010 but that is to be expected with such constant use and after that it was good again. It was due for another service but decided to get new washer with warranty after so many years. I cannot recommend this brand and model highly enough but I did look after it and never used fabric conditioner that builds up in machines. I cannot comment on newer models and even though some of the Bosch's aren't all german made (in fact I think mine was assembled in turkey) my model has been great. I am surprised with lot of people complain about new Bosch washing machine, may be latest Bosch is not as good as built quality as the old one. Only thing i noticed was, the front white control panel colour slightly changed as yellow and slight rust in right side of the bottom, which doesn't affect anythin. Read more g in washing performance. I read lot of people complains about the rubber seals crack. We never ever changed the rubber seal even once during this 13years. Good advice is, open the detergent drawer and door for few hours after the wash completed and all the clothes have been removed. I am sure this washer will go for few more years. Excellent washer.
