That will be out of allign ment I cleaned the gray drain hose out with the garden hose and was amazed at the sludge that game out. When the machine would run on the drain cycle we would also get a sewage smell that I thought was coming form the drain trap but turned out to be caused by the sludge in the pump.I am just a 78 year old man who has been making his own repairs for about 50 years. Therefore the washer or dryer ID doesn't mean much to me. I recently had a washer repair of my own and found an excellent video which showed me how to take my machine apart. This video made it possible for me to do my own repair. I was so impressed with the video that when I saw all these people needing help, I wanted to tell them about it. If you have a top loader (washer) of the direct drive type, this video might be a Godsend for you. If you look at the back of your washer and the panel is solid (no small inspection plate to remove) chances are you have a direct drive and this video is just what you need. You can see this video at www.acmehowto.com You will probably need more help in determining what the problem is and how to fix it. If your repair problem is a washer or dryer I suggest you go to www.applianceaid.com where they have very good trouble shooting and repair information on most washers and dryers. I think you'll find what you need there. Don't worry about the timer, they hardly ever go bad. Good luck with it. If I have helped you, please rate my advice on fixya. Put it in the small hole in the panel push in slightly and turn to about 6 o'clock.clockwise that isBe very careful as the edges are very sharp. If you don't require further assistance and this indeed was helpful to you, please allow a moment to rate this solution I've given accordingly. Looks like a cube of sugar with slots in it.If so, how do I get the cover off? It is right next to a spring on the wire. Just remove the door from the washing machine and undue the screws around the rim and unclp the plastic rim and you should be able to fit in a new one with no problem. Also how do i get a manual? Someone indicated that i check to see if the drum bearing is ok - but i dont know how to do that. Any suggestions? Amazon calculates a product’s star ratings based on a machine learned model instead of a raw data average. The model takes into account factors including the age of a rating, whether the ratings are from verified purchasers, and factors that establish reviewer trustworthiness. See All Buying Options Add to Wish List Disabling it will result in some disabled or missing features. You can still see all customer reviews for the product. It is still in one piece with no cracks, chunks of plastic falling off, no leaks, no stoppages, etc. For those of you worried about energy usage, watch your meter and compare the before usage against the running usage; you may surprised. Most washers are rated to last between 5 and 10 years and that rating still depends on machine care and treatment. When the time comes we'll be searching for another Bosch. Pros: 1) It uses less water 2) It does an excellent of removing water from your clothes, which makes your drying time shorter. 3) It gets your clothes much cleaner. 4) It uses less detergent, softener, and bleach. 4) It is quieter. Cons: 1) Balance. (this is mostly user error; loading done by my kids.) Sometimes the offset weight in the tub is loud for a few seconds when in a spin cycle. But, to be fair, that happens with most washers.http://www.drupalitalia.org/node/80121 (I've seen top load washers shake and jitter 2 feet away from its original spot.) Bottom line: This machine is does as advertised. Treated with respect, care and general maintenance, this machine and any other will outlast the warranty. This is comparable to needing to change. Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2015 Eventually, the drain filter will need cleaned. Good Luck! This is comparable to needing to change an oil filter on a car, it will need to be done only good luck getting to it. The washer will stop working and flash an Error code and the Users Manual is next to worthless in leading to the cause and silent on how to resolve. There is no support on the Bosch site and the dearth of info and the perplexing engineering makes this prime fodder for an unhappy time. I've invested 3 hours so far and don't even have the front panel off. If anyone knows how to get the friggin front panel off (the 3 torque screws are out but it wont budge), please post. Otherwise, the washer has worked well which is why it gets 2 stars. Please try again later. Pros: highly efficient, good clean, far fewer problems with the septic system since going to a front loader (family of 7, lots of water use.) Cons: 1) Very low, need to raise it up. Helps to wipe door gasket out occasionally to prevent mold and grime buildup, not a big deal. Cycle time can be unpredictable, but supposedly due to sensors and machine intelligence. Normal cycle time starts out at 1:00, gets down to:50, then changes to 1:10. Overall been a good machine. Bought at Lowes, they delivered, installed, and took away the junk from Sears at no extra cost. The 300 series doesn't have 170 degree option if you really like your clothes cooked. If not, save the bucks and keep it simple. Please try again later. Please try again later. schism 4.0 out of 5 stars Could see it rocking on your floor if it's not solid (but we are built up on piers--not slab) Usually research before buying, this time I did not. Got the washer home THEN read 2 bad reviews. Expected wadding and twisting of clothes, neither happens. Despite being told in the instructions not to open the door during the cycle, I always stop the cycle and add clothes and the machine senses it and adds more water. So maybe the lack of options are compensated by the smartness of the machine. I'm sure there are lemons, but a good thing to bear in mind is that people who are pleased with a product tend to not review it. I mean, it does what it is supposed to do, right? Please try again later. Please try again later. A. Campbell 4.0 out of 5 stars I have the following gripes: 1. The door often requires a good push to shut properly, otherwise it doesn't lock. 2. The machine is supposed to adjust cleaning times based on load weight but I've not noticed it do this. Perhaps it does, I've not timed it. 3. If the load is unbalanced (e.g. when I stick in my bath mat) it sometimes won't spin because it detects an unbalanced load. Instead it tries to spin and repeatedly fails and so it can take a very long time for such loads to finish up. 4. The standard spin cycle isn't long enough. I have to manually make it spin a second time before the clothes are ready for the dryer. Overall I'm happy with it. It's robust. It hasn't damaged my clothes. It cleans them well. Please try again later. Please try again later. John Smith 2.0 out of 5 stars Good Luck! JennyG 1.0 out of 5 stars Be prepared to extend laundry day to laundry month, as the wash cycle takes so long on this machine your kindergartner wil be doing college visits before the cycle finishes. The door can't be opened and the cycle can't be manually advanced, so short of taking a hammer to the window you're in it for the long haul. It spins for 30 seconds, stops for two minutes, spins again for 30 seconds, stops again, and repeats this utter ridiculousness until it's convinced you that filthy clothing is far preferable to spending another day of frustration waiting for at least one wash cycle to complete. At this point I'm taking my clothing down to the river and washing it with rocks and I'm still back before one cycle on this pathetic excuse for a machine has completed. I can't comment on the quality of the job it does as I don't expect to live long enough to see a cycle actually complete. Please try again later. Please try again later. Bill 2.0 out of 5 stars But after a while, I noticed that I was sticking to clothing and towels is my hands or I was slightly damp like when getting out of the shower. At first I attributed this it my softened water and I started using the extra rinse feature all the time and cut the recommended amount of HE detergent to half, but I kept getting stickier. In an effort to help the rinse, I added water at the beginning of the final rinse cycle. I was surprised at the huge amount of suds it produced. It was the same as if I just put soap in. Pros: Cleans really well. Cons: doesn't rinse very well at all. The outer door window is barely hanging on. The door requires an extra push for it to lock when starting the machine. Any time the machine is stopped, it goes back to the beginning of the portion of the cycle it's on instead of picking up where it left off adding more time to the wash. Please try again later. Please try again later. Akira Touya 5.0 out of 5 stars Please try again later. Please try again later. Lori Riley 5.0 out of 5 stars I highly recommend this washer. Never had an issue, never needed a service call. Please try again later. Please try again later. It's now March of 2013 and I have to replace it already. I did like it while it worked, but here are some of the downsides as well: - you have to make sure you clear everything from the door - it beeps when it's done without a way to turn off the beeping (the dryer of the same model at least gives an option if you want it to signal or not). I'm a light laundry user, so this machine did not see exessive use or abuse from me (it's just me and my 5-year-old daughter). Would NOT recommend. Good machines should last more than 3 years. Please try again later. Please try again later. Hold times are long. A noisy spin cycle isn't the end of the world. It fills then drains immediately on all cycles. I have only used HE detergent, in lesser amounts than recommended in manual and on machine. Called Bosch and representative said only to use 1 to 2 tablespoons. Well, they should have put that in the manual then. Also, wire spring around gasket has been coming off since the first month. Please help!No error codes appear, it just fills, drains, then shuts itself off. You can run a self diagnostics on this machine and it will provide a lot of info. I really can't post the tech info here but I can email it to you if you provide an email address. It is a complete teardown and diagnostic manual for a couple of other models, but they also apply to the 500 and 800 series as well. My guesse would be the motor control board has gone out, you can confirm this is self diagnostic mode. Hope this helps and if you can provide an email address I can email you the manual in pdf format. They're so sleek you hardly want to hide them. You could also add slim shelves into the sides where you have space, under the new counter, which would make them look more built in. I don't think it would infringe on the sense of space at all. If privacy is an issue, how about the frosted glass film they sell at Home Depot (it works great) combined with matchstick blinds or a roman shade. Or maybe wide-slat California wooden blinds, to let in more light than you've got with the mini blinds.Personally, I always match that with crisp white trim, doors, toilet, sink and ceiling. Does SO much to brighten the space up. I'm guessing you're not planning on keeping your current tile. If they have any grey in them they might still go okay, if this is a stage-by-stage funds based reno. What about something ceramic in a mock monotone grey slate with low contrast grout. Compared to the other high end options we priced it was a great deal. Lots of high end appliances are made by the same companies. For instance, I believe Bosch makes Thermadore's dishwasher, and Sharp makes all drawer microwaves no matter what brand it is sold under. I happen to like Thermadore's styling a little more than Jenn Aire, and they had one or two more features that I found appealing..See More Front vs. Top Loaders - Which is better. Q Comments (462) I would choose a top loader any day. I've had both, and I can tell you, there's nothing like good old traditional design. In my personal experience, the front loaders are not worth the money they cost, they are much heavier and harder to move and they have to be cleaned often. A big problem with front loading washers is mold and mildew buildup, due to lack of proper ventilation. Meaning, there isn't enough airflow to allow them to fully dry, and this is because of their design. What will happen is it will cause your clothes to smell like mildew. I was able to control this using white distilled vinegar, and cleaning it constantly. A top loading washer is just so much simpler. I definitely prefer the stainless steel tub. I like the ones without the agitator because it allows for more room and makes it easier to wash larger items such as comforters. Ultimately, it is a personal preference. I just know that my first experience with a front loading washer wasn't all that spectacular. Hope this has helped..See More Best Refrigerator. Q Comments (162) Well, I know that above mikasmom1 says that it is ridiculous to spend a lot on a refrigerator, but we are totally redoing our kitchen right now, and we just took out a SubZero that had been there for 31 years.and it was still running when it was removed. So, I have purchased another Sub Zero. It had been such a good refrigerator for so long, I thought the company deserved another go. I did NOT get a Viking or Wolf range though, due to all of the bad reviews on both of them, although I think Wolf may be making a comeback. I'm very excited to start using my new appliances.waited a long time for this! P.S. My washer and dryer are Kenmore's and they are about 20 years old and still going strong!.See More rayb1201 5 years ago If some one can e mail me a copy of the service manual for the Bosch Nexxt 500 I would be grateful. They are barely off the page. I have found on the web that for earlier models there is a reset code for Bosch washers. It requires one to get into the programing section of the controls. I have read the Bosch manuals which you have so generously posted and do not see anything for this washer. My washer reads out an error code of E:01 and then in the programing section also reads out code C:00. Your manual indicates that there is a child interlock function on page 25 or 26. This process has not returned the door lock to normal operation. The manuals you have referenced do not seem to give pages 25 and 26. Do you have any thoughts on this problem? It makes small hole in all of our tshirts. We ran a stocking around the drum and found rough spots which we removed with a diamond bit. Still have the problem. Anyone else with the same experience. 5 he Bosch tech says get a new drum but I don't want a repeat. BTW my 3 yr old Bosch dishwasher is on its 2nd recall. Never gonna buy Bosch again. Fortunately my mold was mainly on the bottom where the drain holes are and not around the whole seal. I also recently discovered that liquid detergent contains animal fat and have switched back to an HE compatible powder (Tide). I cannot believe how much cleaner my clothes are, how sheets no longer get a slightly rancid smell when they've been sitting in the cupboard for awhile, and how much cleaner my washer looks and smells. I will never go back to liquid detergent. Please email service manual so I can run diagnostic test. Is it possible to post a link to their manuals. Will send on the manual. I would greatly appreciate it. Display is reading E. No number code afterward. Signal keeps beeping and door is locked and cannot unlock it.Back when I had mine, it locked and I couldn't get it unlocked. Don't remember if a error code displayed or not. Any way, the repairman told me to unplug it for awhile and that took care of it. Repair man replaced door lock and now I get nothing. Repairman can't come back for four days.I have gotten an E04 error twice In the last few months, so believe I should clean out the pump. Can't believe so many have problems with these machines. I wish they still made them. Came with my house (2005 MODEL I think). For the past year I get an E:04, so I turn to off, wait, then to drain, allow water to drain out and back in business. Today it just STOPPED!!! Will work in Xtra Sanitary and Quick wash but will not spin or drain and door is locked. Holding my clothes hostage. Wondering if I need a new washer or if it can be repaired, correctly this time? It is brushless. everything checks out OK there I opened the drain cover, cleaned up (not much in there). Still keep getting the code - any ideas?? Do I need to replace the pump. The clothes are still soaking wet when the code comes up and the washer stops doing anything If the pump is fine, the problem could be excessive suds. If that is not the issue, the pump may have failed. Do you hear it running when the machine is supposed to be draining? Why should someone email you the links - do you honestly expect other people to put in more effort to solve your problem than you seem willing to put forth? Prior to trying these, it started to drain and the cloths were drier. Tried bother suggestions anyways. Thanks for your response You will note, if you read what I posted, that I used names at the start of each paragraph. I questioned Mr. Meyer's effort. You, I offered advice (a service I am now regretting). Are you that tightly wound, or loosely wound - depending on your perspective. If you are asking for help, requesting that others give of their time and effort to assist you, put forth a modicum of effort yourself and actually read the reponses. Tightly wound? YOU are the one asking for something and then being snarky. It was your misunderstanding, not mine. Perhaps you could be grateful for help rather than being a jerk when you are at fault. I've been sending people the manual when they ask for it for a few years now, and it doesn't bother me at all. (I actually hadn't noticed the link had been posted.) All the best Does anyone know what this code is and how to fix. It won't agitate or spin. Maybe a service manual I could download.Only one screw catches and screws tight. Does anyone have an idea to fix this. It seems whatever metal piece that the one screw tightens into is not in the other screw locations. You can access them here: Any ideas? I would be extremely grateful to have a copy of the Bosch self diagnostic book. They all start normal, but we leave then come back 45 mins later and it is frozen at 45 or 56, and it is random where it stops at. My late reply was due to the lack of time available as I’ve been busy catching up on laundry. My family thanks you too. Chris O We replaced the belt now the washing machine will fill but once it goes into the wash cycle, it clicks but won’t agitate. Same on the rinse cycle. If we turn the agitator as it is filling, by hand, it will start but once it gets to the rinse spin cycle it will not start on its own. Lights are flashing. We have to unplug it, plug it back in turn the agitator by hand and it will finish the cycle. Each time it gets to the point were it is suppose to agitate or spin, it will click and then try to start a few times. Then the lights flash. Thanks for any help on this. But not with every load of wash. Kenmore Elite clothes washer, top-load, direct drive, model 110-24952300. Again, this is intermittent. For example, today I ran the washer empty following a new part. Ran fine. We washed a load of table linens. Ran fine. I threw in a load of towels. Filled, agitated, drained, filled again, then hummed. The smell of a hot electrical motor was present, but not overloaded. This happens occasionally and I’ve been thinking that the motor is getting overheated after a heavy load or a few small loads and shuts down. Why do I think this. Because I can push timer switch in to turn it off, let it stand for 15-30 minutes, pull the timer switch out and the motor engages and resumes its cycle thru completion. Initial troubleshooting started with a new lid switch following little research effort. Same problems. Read nearly every DIY webpage and video and replaced a few parts to no avail. What you got?? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. That is why you can restart the washer after some time has passed. Try reducing the size of your laundry loads. If the issue happens even on small loads, then replace the motor or the thermal circuit as it could be faulty and therefore causing your intermittent issue.
