I Just assembled a new Bosch RA1180 table for my Bosch routers. While trying to level the plate I did notice that it is slightly bowed upward. That is, when I lay a straight edge over it, I can never get it perfectly flush with the table top, as the center is always a little higher than the outer edges of the plate. Will the weight of the router pull the center down and even things out. Thanks for the help, and having me here. Oh, one more thing: Where is the spell check for this thing. It ensures the wood passing the bit is always at the same cutting level. This feature is designed to accomodate uneven wood surfaces. I have seen reports from people who claim it is impossible to get a good cut with this set up. To this I reply: I have a couple and have installed them for friends.http://www.feuerwehr-adlitz.de/images/uploadedimages/bosch-logixx-frost-free-manual.xml

We seem to be able to get precission cuts with no problem. Norm Abrahms used a Rousseau plate in his NYW table for 10 years until Rockler sponsored him. Trend-UK sells a licensed version of this plate with their name on it. I have seen magazine reviews stressing that your mounting plate must be perfectly flat with one exception, the Rousseau plate. I can not speak to the amount of bevel in your plate, but if it is a tiny amount then give it a try. Your results will speak for themselves. Let us know how this works out. Also, I imagine it would be a good idea to re-level it with the router mounted in case the weight makes the plate sag. Any more thoughts? woodendigits is offline If there's a few thousandths of crown in the center of the plate it's never been a problem. But I had to recheck and make adjustments on it after mounting my 1619 in the Table since it was heavier. I have used it for cutting Lap Joints, and Jointing with out any problems so far. But will check it when I am using other bits.I will work on it today. I would have answered sooner but, I had internet problems last night and I think I just sorted it out this morning.I finally leveled the mounting plate (or thought I did) and tightened the screws that fix it to the table. Of course I had to re level it again due to the weight of the router and tightening of the screws. No problem. under the plate are 8 leveling screws, while on top of the plate are 4 mounting screws. My problem is that each of the 8 leveling screws are set so those points of the plate are flush with the table top, however, the space of the plate between the adjustment screws are either bowed up or sagging slightly. In other words, I can't seem to get the thing flush with the table all around the plate, even though the areas next to the adjustment screws are flush with the table. Ditto for the parts that bow up some. Any thoughts here?http://www.astwa.pl/screenface/screenmain/upload/bosch-logixx-frost-free-freezer-manual.xml woodendigits is offline Register NowPlease enter your desired user name, your email address and other required details in the form below. Alekzz 1.0 out of 5 stars It is very rigid, looks to be some type of hard composite plastic material. It does look like it is actually maybe made to take insets to make the hole smaller, since there a flange around the hole, but I am not sure about that. Again, it looks great to me.Only time will tell how durable it is but I am satisfied it will allow me to safely support my Performax router on my Bosch Router table.Okay, I fail at research I guess. I had read in the manual online and new I'd have to order the plate which I had presumed I could get from Bosch.http://superbia.lgbt/flotaganis/1648169326 It is my fault for trusting their manual for a current product they sell that is NOT SUPPORTED. Optional items not available. SUcks to be you, customer and fool for buying Bosch. Bosch as a company rates a zero with me as of this post.I should have read the review written already. I totally agree with it. The plate is plastic and will flex without putting much pressure on it. It comes with no inserts and I don't see where bosch sells any for it. This under-table router base has convenient wrench access above the table, allowing you to easily adjust the router's depth. Hardware is included to make the setup process as smooth as possible. Jon 2.0 out of 5 stars Once it has done that the adjustment screw is useless and you have to take the plate off and fix it. There isn't much height adjustment for the bit in general and you spin a lot of time above and below the table trying to get it dialed in. Wish I had spent the money on a better setup.Using this avoids the three screws. But man, the router does not slide easily into and out of this base. I feel like I'm wrestling a gorilla every time I slide the router in and out. It take up to five minutes to get it in place and if I want to adjust it, even more time is wasted. Not very happy at all. I waste a lot of time.Perhaps operator error, I'm not sure. All I am sure of is that it does not raise and lower without removing it from the router table. Add this to my dissatisfaction with the Bosch router table and plate in that it is not a standard size and now I will have to purchase a table as well as a lift. Last week, I could not get the Rockler box joint jig to tighten without spacers in the miter rail. After 2 passes it loosened and now I have another piece of uselessness stacked in a corner. Having said that, I love my Bosch router. It is nice to have a second one in case you want to pull the motor out of this housing for general use. If you plan on having the router permanently on your router table, just use the one you already have.Despite not being as easy to use as the really great lifts on the market, I've given this 5-Stars because it is such a value that I am happy to overlook the slight difference in ease of operation. I've got the 1617EVSPK and the standard base in my will NOT function as this base does. The kits may have changed over time, so there could be different situations. On my standard base, the end of the shaft is just flat terminated a bit beyond the threaded micro-adjust part. I bought this unique base because its micro-adjuster has an essential extension with a hex-socketed tip that makes this base work with an above-table manipulated hex key.You might not need this. I also purchased an aluminum table plate as the poly plate I had sagged with the heat of a melted DeeWilt. The router i purchased (Bosch 1617 EVS) came with a base that was essentially the same exact thing as this base with the only difference being an acrylic shoe and knobs. With the open Bosch router table (not the cabinet version) I never use the height adjustment wrench from the top of the table. This is very high quality.Nice! Works perfectly. Buy with confidence: reasonable price and great quality Bosch! I like the top, and it comes with T-tracks, Fence, Dust Collection, etc. But, I hate the flimsy plastic bench top legs. So, I'll take the plastic legs off. My question is, how should I mount the table in the surrounding (extended) table top. The Bosch table top will have to nest into the finished table top. Any suggestions on how to construct the table top so I can drop the Bosch Table Top into the final table top and adjust it to be perfectly flush? Thanks. Ok,I never insulate RainMan 2.0 is online now I'll have to look at mounting on the side of my table saw. I hadn't thought of that. The reason that I was thinking of building a complete table was for storage and putting casters on it so I could move it around my small shop to get it out of the way when not needed. It seems the mounting slots would simplify leveling just using a straight edge assuming you will have access below. Will it need to be surrounded on all 4 sides or just 3? Do you need to extend miter slot. The additional details on the table top are unclear to me, which is why I was asking for help. I don't know if I should use plywood, or frame the Bosch Table top with some hard wood for additional stablility. I was thinking that it should be surrounded on all 4 sides for the best support, but I'm open to an idea where its open on the front. I did think that a hard laminate top, or even hardboard should be used on the top. I will extend the existing miter slot acros the entire table. Quote: Have another layer underneath both tables and drill and install Allen head screws on the perimeter that you can adjust under your bosch one. Thank you for ideas. LagunaPaul is offline I've included a top and bottom view of my table top with the Bosch RA1180 nested into it. On top of that, I'm going to go with some styles and rails made from hardwood with hanger bolts set on the inside edge to match the hanger slots in the Bosch table. I'll route dados to extend the miter slot in the hardwood styles and rails, and cover that with a slot in the hard board. I didn't draw that part, but the rest of it is there. I think that will all be sturdy and durable. I've also designed a cart with a bunch of drawers and a port for dust collection. The table top will just sit atop the cart and I'll fasten it with some those figure 8 deals, I think. I'm kinda making this up as go. I have to say, this is the first time that I've used sketch up. What a great, easy, little program. Thanks for the help, guys. Whenever I get the table done, I'll send pictures too.
