I would tend to guess that the Harmony Central poster is using MIDI continuous controllers from the pedals and buttons on his floorbox to control the parameters of the current patch. So in other words, you have all the tones picked out for song you're doing, and they live in a single FX patch, which you can punch on or off any of the individual FX in a chain with y'r footcontroller buttons or pedals. See your foot-controller manual and the SE-70 manual for more information on setting up CC chains. Hope that's helpful. That makes perfect sense. Many midi controllers can send CC messages but often only data values of 0 (off) and 127 (on). How much midi experience do you have? A supporter from G66 advice me to reset the Unit and it worked again. But it seems to it change nothing, it will not register the signal from the Boss FC50. Anything wrong here.? This must be possible. So far. It only change presets. It supports exactly 2 CC messages, which are mapped and sent only when you have external switches connected to the switch jacks on the back of the FC-50. So, you can do scenes in a limited fashion. With Preset Mapping on the Axe Fx. Check the Axe Fx manual for more details on Preset Mapping- there are some things you have to set to make it work. I believe Ignore Redundant PC needs to be ON. Good luck. While it is possible, the FC-50 doesn't seem like a great fit with the Axe Fx. I'll test it and eventually get back to how it works. Of course I have realized that I need to buy a better midi foot controller, and it may very well be the MFC 101 MK3, but for now it could be necessary (for a while) to use Boss FC50 for recording, I'm afraid. It also has buttons for bank switching, AND it has jacks on the back to attach a remote set of pedals to switch banks. I plugged in an M-Audio Black Box Pedal Board for two of the switches and one EXP and another double footswitch for the other two CC jacks. These pedalboards are sitting in junk boxes at some music shops and can sometimes be had a a great price. You can use any cheap expression pedal with them two. If you use MIDI-OX, you can even make the PC footswitches do other things that select patches. Note, the BANK switches cannot be configured to do anything else when plugged directly to the GR-55, but probably using MIDI-OX to translate them to other functions, like CC's, they might. Switching patches works fine, but you have to translate from 99x3 to 1-99, and add BANKs for more depth. This is not user friendly and cna result in brain freeze if you watch the two displays and are not accustomed to diverging numeric displays. Therefore, I would use the pacth changer in the GR-55, unless the GR-55 is away in a rack or something. Then you need a patchlist on paper or iPad, etc, because the GFC-50 has only a two digit 7-segment LED display, no text. It also has two bank switches and the 1-10 PC switches. It runs on a 9VDC wart or 6xAA batteries, and includes a battery saver mode for extending the battery life. OR, just putting the control board into the M-Audio Black Box and adding two footswitches to it for a cool little buddy box controller. Any-hoo, it works! It could work for some players. There are better newer controllers out there, but the Roland pedalboards have a great tactile feel and with the dual EXP's, bank sw jacks and two CC jacks, it can offer some good control options. It is long out of production, AFAIK. I'm trying to change patches on my GR-55 with the GFC-50, it works fine in fix mode, but when I change to prog nothing, I have a GT-100 also hooked up to the GFC-50 via a midi thru box and that works fine.
