Supply operation is a better alternative here (metering pump stands near to the metering container. To protect the pump and pressure pipe against the buildup of inadmissibly high pressure, an overflow valve must be built into the metering pipe. In the event of the free discharge of the metering medium immediately before the end of the metering pipe, a pressure control valve or metering valve should be integrated. The following general rule applies: Between the backpressure at the inoculation site and the pressure of the metering medium at the suction valve of the metering pump, a positive pressure difference of at least bar must exist. If this is not the case, a pressure control valve must be integrated into the metering pipe.
