First, Amazon listed the bags for this vaccuum as the EL200C which I ordered. That's NOT Amazon's mistake because the outside carton lists EL200C as the correct bag but the product manual contradicts that. See attached phootos. The photo from page 15 of the EL7085B manual clearly says not to use PAPER filters in this vacuum. The photo from the EL200C carton confirms they are PAPER. I had to return them and had a hard time finding genuine Electrolux synthetic bags. Page 5 of the manual simply says to use S-Bags and does NOT caution against paper S-Bags and of course the exteior carton lists the EL200C paper bags as the correct bag so MAYBE the error is on page 15 but I want to err on the side of caution and not use cheaper bags that might void the 7 year warranty. It would be nice if Electrolux would chime in here because their manual and carton contradict each other. Now to register the product: When I try it won't except the model number listed on the manual (EL7085) or the model shown on the bottom of the vacuum (EL7085 TYPE B). I use their chat session and an agent had to tell me to input EL7085B. Maybe I should have had enough sense to try that but I'm almost 72 and ran a computer most of my life and feel there is NO excuse for such shoddy programming. Or just 7085 should work since they ask for the serial number so from that they should know the model as well as everything else. They could simply ask for the serial number and dispense with the model number. Aside: That's one thing that bugs me to this day: How many POOR user interfaces still exist that ask for your city and state and then ask for your zip code. Totally unnecessary. Our medical system (my company served over half the doctors in our state) asked the user to input the patient's zip code and filed in the state and city automatically and that was almost 40 years ago. But Electrolux's product registration site is even worse: When I was filling in this redundant data and it asked for my state the drop down menu only went through New Jersey. I considered another chat session but decided to choose New Jersey and hope an edit might work. Sure enough after entering New Jersey (which it accepted even though the zip code and city contradicted that which proves they do no error checking) the next screen allowed me to choose EDIT and when I did I was able to change New Jersey to SC (that drop down offered all states). Hope that might help you register if you live in a state alphabetically past New Jersey. Again, none of my frustration with their website incompetence should stop you from buying this vacuum as it seems to be an excellent product (so far) that I would buy again and do recommend.Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2018 I've had four Electrolux vacuum cleaners in my lifetime (I'm 62). The first was the one my mother bought in 1956. It was perfect and only wore out in the 70's of old age. Lost it to my ex-husband. One day I went to get it and the plastic near the bush was cracked and the vacuum was unusable after that. It has the same creaky cheap plastic feel but is so heavy that the lady that helps me clean will not use it due to fears it could cause her medical issues. Is it too much to ask to have a well made old fashioned canister vacuum cleaner like I bought from Electrolux in the 80's or like the one my mother had. This one is so heavy the bush ought to be self propelling. I looked today less than three months after I bought it and the time Frame for return has expired. I barely used it because I was gone so much in the summer and my housekeeper refused to use it. Do not buy it. Buy a cheap vac and throw it away when it breaks. Please try again later. It has multiple settings for suction and carpet depth. I personally found the hose to be just the right length and the pole that attaches to the head extends a extra foot or more to accommodate a taller person. The head does have the squeak that was shown in another review but it doesn’t bother me enough to reduce stars and doesn’t change the performance. This vacuum keeps up with no problems. Powerhead turns off (overheating?) while in the middle of vacuuming and have to wait for it to cool down before you can use it again.Suction has to keep being manually adjusted as you go (unless you put it on auto) and does not seamlessly go from carpet to floor without constant height adjustment. I want to just turn it on and vacuum as I use to do as all this stopping and adjusting is just time consuming and a real pain. The extendable wand is designed all wrong as well. The larger diameter section is towards the bottom and it steps down in size for the next section. This creates turbulence inside the tube which sounds like an annoying trumpet. My old Electrolux vacuum was designed with smaller diameter section of the wand towards the bottom and the wider section further downstream. In use, the new vacuum became louder and I also noticed carpet fiber build up on the obstruction created by the new design. With that, I returned the item.Please try again later. NZ2000 NZ 3 reviews I use a lot of different vacuums and this one has a lot of suction, great for deep down carpet cleaning. I love using this!!! I bought the blue one in the picture that has the 3 speed dial and no annoying remote control or power head or complicated bits to go wrong, in the 4 or 5 years i have had it it hasnt missed a beat and had no faults. Indicator lights for changing bag or changing fil. Read more ters, the pre motor filter is a HEPA 13 filter, also the exhaust filter is a HEPA filter but is permanent and doesn't need to be changed as it ony collects the carbon exhausted from the motor. My complaints are that the pre-motor HEPA filter can get tears sucked in it, it is too fragile, i have replaced 3 filters prematurely because of tearing despite not being dirty. Also, the bag compartment is smaller than most s-bags so you cannot use all the bag as it doesnt unfold. High suction, nice design and build quality, good filtration, twin HEPA filters, long cord. Changing the bag and cleaning the filter is easy. Comes with good attachments. Totally agree with the other review this cleaner does not even pick up crumbs or dust well on hard floors, and carpets forget about it. All the cleaning head manages to do is push the dust around. This means that to clean carpet you need to push all the dirt into one spott and then try and suck it up, hopeless. We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss the concerns you have raised about the vacuum. It is now out of warranty and the brushes aren't rotating in the head. The blue light shone and the brushes rotated only when the handle was angled at right angles to the head, but has now ceased to light or the brushes rotate at all. There is still is suction occuring. I see that the head has been a problem mentioned on this site. I wonder if you can help with this, perhaps indicating what could be the likely problem may be. I have opened it up and cleaned it our and nothing broken is obvious. I can't really afford to put it into a service centre at the moment but if the part is not too expensive I may be able to order it. Someone handy with a multimeter could test the nozzle or tube to see if it is that. I believe you can buy a standard nozzle from vacuumspot.com.au and carry on vacuuming, they also sell the entire set however I think they are quite expensive for the set. Taking these things apart are fraught, even doing it carefully can snap little plastic holders. Like Report vacation 5 years ago You will find that one of the brass contacts in the hand piece where the wand connects has broken or weakened through metal fatigue and so does not make a proper connection unless held at weird angles. The handle can be taken apart but you must be very careful as they are glued and so potentially can break.
