I still have mine in the basement somewhere, I should dig it up, as back as a kid I just followed the instructions and did what it said with absolutely zero understanding of what was going on, if I went through it again I'd probably actually understand stuff more. Pics i took a while back when this subject came up on another forum. This project kit has some unusual circuits, like frequency doubler and regenerative radio receiver. Nowadays, I use the Maxitronix 300 in 1 kit. I have also a scanned manual. For this kit I've made small wire bridges in different colours, so the breadboard is not too crowded. Greetings It seems that some parts are placed differently, but the numbered connections are the same. Sorry, only in German, because this kit was published by Neckermann in the seventies. I remember staring at this project kit in their catalogue back then; My parents told me then I was to young, so I got an Electricity kit with lamps and motors instead But thanks to ebay, they can purchased relatively cheap these days. I will try to publish a photo one of these days. So, here are the links of the manual, even and uneven pages. Greetings Thanks to Wilfred who combined the 2 pdf's into one, here you can download the combined zip: It has several free springs too to connect your own transistors, etc. It even has a ground loop to connect shorter wires. Gakken made a few of these back then, I also have the Gakken 200in1 kit ( here it was available under the brand Lindy ). Here are some pictures, more can be found on my flickr page Ans some detailed pictures of the Neckermann kit Greetings Electronique 2000 made by Joustra Thanks in advance Since this kit comprises only basic components, it wouldn't be hard to design your own circuits. If it would help you, I have the radio shack 10 in 1 kit and has the exact same components. If you are interested, I could always scan this manual for you. So you can use this as a guide.http://mebiphar.com/images/89-chevy-silverado-owners-manual.pdf Perhaps Joustra used this Radio Shack kit and revamped it for their own brand. Greetings Unfortunately, I don't have this kit, but wouldn't it be challenging to write it yourself. Since this kit comprises only basic components, it wouldn't be hard to design your own circuits. Perhaps Joustra used this Radio Shack kit and revamped it for their own brand. Greetings Hello! Thank you, its a good idea, i sure can use your manual as a refrence and make my own circuits, I know that they all have the same design, your printed copy would be very useful Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk You can download it following this link: You need to fold the printed papers to assemble a booklet. In the meantime, I will try to invent some more circuits for this kit. Would you share some ideas here also ? Greetings. Our payment security system encrypts your information during transmission. Mark G 4.0 out of 5 stars My just-turned-seven-year-old grandson and I are having a good time with the SC Pro. He took to it right away, figuring out how to assemble the parts and how to make things work, without much if any reading of instructions. He pesters me to use it, and to use it WITH him, which is the best you can hope for from an activity that is on the healthy side of today's offerings for children. In response to some of the negative reviews I read before purchase: So far all of the parts we've used have worked fine. But we have yet to use all the ones included yet. Regarding the complaints about this product's lack of explanation about what the circuit is actually doing, I'd say this. As I mentioned, I've barely read any of the manual, so if electronic theory guidance is there or not I couldn't say for sure. My perusal of the text has yet to reveal any significant attempt at theory. But that's kind of my point. We hardly look at the text at all. Would it be great if all the theory was there, I suppose, I just don't think it would get read. I know a bit about electronics, and I tried to slow him down enough to explain how the electrons move and what they are doing and how series and parallel circuits affect results, etc, but he just kinda glazes over and is more interested in flicking the switch or starting the next experiment. And realistically, other than explaining how electrons move around a closed circuit, the amount of text necessary to explain how complex components do what they do (transistors, diodes, the enclosed sound modules, etc) would be quite large and cumbersome. I think that approach could do as much harm as good, in terms of keeping a young mind interested and engaged. Better to give them the exposure than to turn them off to it altogether by trying to cram too much information during a session that's meant to be fun. Will this product lead to a better understanding of electricity and electronics. Yes, definitely. Will it teach him how to engineer circuits and program IC chips, probably not. But it might spark an interest in such things that later in life would lead to more comprehensive study, within an environment better suited for learning such things (like a classroom with a proper teacher). I think the manufacturers of SC Pro have achieved the correct balance: exposure to something of this nature without making it such a chore that would only turn off a young mind to the possibilities. Now if only my old eyes could read all the little text on all the little parts. No worries, I have my grandson to do that for me!! Edit: In reading my review after being notified by Amazon that it had been posted, I noticed a rather large price cut. Did this seller nick me because I bought it just before Christmas. Supply and demand, I guess. It's a super fun way to demonstrate electronics to kids and have them experiment on their own. The snap circuit immediately picks up where other building toys leave off. So anyone that is familiar with a Lego set should be ready to work with this. Many of the circuits are a lot of fun. The younger ones will be immediately drawn in by the fan, especially when you can make it fly off. From there you can show them the meter, then the voice recorder, and so on and so forth. To them it's all play, but they will learn about electrical circuits, conductivity, power and more. My kit showed up missing some components, but an online form on the manufacturer's website had that corrected in about a week. The one thing I don't like is that the voice recorder also plays prerecorded songs, after the voice recording, that can't be recorded over. It takes away from the child's experience of learning about controls and inputs by putting something in there they may not want. The songs are random (there are a few different melodies it can play) which takes further away the control from the child. I suspect this was done to help learn how to use the part, but my child found it annoying. The actual concepts of circuits are over his head, but he loves to follow the “blue print” (as he calls it) on the page and gets excited when he does it right and it works. Daddy loves it because it also has more complicated pages that he can do and not get bored. This is one of those items that is good for beginners and will grow with them. As my son gets older, he will be able to read and understand the concept and what is occurring to make that particular creation. Also, once he understands what is happening, he will be able to make is own circuits. I like it that it doesn’t give step by step instructions but just a picture and he has to look, think, and apply. Then if it doesn’t work, he has to trouble shoot. Also, if he does make a mistake, I don’t have to worry about him creating a shock or a fire in the house.I will definitely buy more add ons for Christmas. He was focused and concentrating on this instead of the scary sounds outside. I am writing it in my list for the next hurricane season. Hopefully they'll keep producing new ones.Enjoyable, educational and interesting but not holding his interest, once a build is done, you've seen it at work and you move on. He's used some of the builds, like the siren in other areas of play but it's not really an activity he goes back to over and over.He was kinda done with it at that point. I pulled it out and showed him that you could work around the snapped off pieces, but his interest was killed somehow. Before this mishap, he must have built dozens of the projects. So, my warning is, it's breakable. Should probably keep it on the table, rather than carry it around.I asked why she wasn’t interested only to be told it was booooring.Had hours of fun with it and it has sparked an interest in more advanced electronics for my daughter. He is completely engrossed in it. He loves reading diagrams and building things by following instructions. This fitted the bill exactly. A great success. Not only my 11 year son, but I am also learning.). Even belw 100 circuits itself is enough to give idea of electronics. Go for it, a definite to have product. In many cases the components don't function as they are meant to making it the instruction booklet very frustrating for a child to work through. Example: one of the first projects is a circuit with a lamp and resistor in series. The lamp is supposed to light up, but doesn't. The set is meant to be an introduction to electronics so it's a bummer to have to get out a multimeter and start troubleshooting the components immediately (I verified the problem is with the lamp). 2). When you open the box you'll see a request from the manufacturer to contact them rather than the retailer in the event of a problem. The difficulty is nobody answers the phone and nobody returns your call. The magic of this set is that it has the potential to spark interest in electronics among youngsters. Poor quality control and customer service extinguishes the spark. I'm rooting for this product and company so I hope they get their act together.
