enviromower eco 500 manualTips To Be Secure Whilst Driving At Evening AmanStino Login to post Two weeks ago everything turned off. Nothing works. Do i change battery is there replaceable battery in these watches? I know when i bought it they. I set mine directly under a UV lamp for at least a day to charge. I have found the PULLing the STEM OUT and setting it under a lamp to charge works the best. Try for a couple days, one day stem out another stem in. If it still does not charge it may need a new secondary battery. This really is not something you should try to fix yourself as the cells are easy to mess up. Good luck.Watch and still does not work. Does battery have to be charged first and if so HOW? You must ensure you have the correct replacement cell (cap) and it will need charging. See your instruction manual for details on charging. Adjust the time and it should run smoothly. It will be able to continue for one or two days, but you should get it into the sun more often.Be sure to ask the watch repair man if he knows the eco drive uses special battery, if not sure, find another watch repair man before he kills your watch;) The watch will work and at the same time it will try to recharge this one until it explodes. Now it won't start at all. I suspect a component on the circuit board has died. (I checked the handle and lever mechanism and they seemed OK, but were a beast to re-assemble.) Could anyone recommend where I could take it in Melbourne to get advice on whether parts are available, is it an easy fix or not etc. Like Share More 5 answers Katie 4 years ago Sorry I cannot help you with where to seek help with repairs. The only outlet I tried were not satisfactory. Like Report Koala 4 years ago I had the same problem with my enviromower (the red one), what fixed the problem every time was to place the battery in the mower and then plug the charging connection into the battery (for about 5-10 seconds) and then remove. Then try to start the mower, it should start. If this doesn't work try the same thing again except this time plug the charger into a powerpoint and turn on the electricity power (not the lawnmower) for a few seconds and then remove. However, I have never had to do this as just connecting the charger to the battery has done the trick - I don't know why but why look a gift horse in the mouth. I hope this works for you too. Good luck. Like Report Greg 4 years ago Didn't work like that for me but jiggling the start levers and button did. I just hope it will continue to respond. Yes there are industry standard batteries hidden inside. Deep cycle batteries would of course be much better than the century batteries but I cannot find any at affordable prices. Like Report Hereward D. 1 year ago Interesting info on the battery internals. Can you tell me the spec's of the power supply to charge the battery. Note the batteries inside, in theory should last for at least 5 years (according to century where I got my replacements) but the dumb supplied 24 volt charger absolutely kills them on recharge. I don't know if there is any way to charge them using a proper smart charger as there is a circuit controlling the batteries inside of the case as smart chargers running at 24volts don't seem common. You could take them out of the case and use two good 12 volt smart chargers but constant removal could lead to damage to the case and circuit. The wiring isn't that strong. I use a timer set for 10 hours to charge the battery directly after each use. And before I use it I charge for about 2 to 3 hours to top up the battery. The standard charger charges at 1 amp per hour, so 10 hour timer will not overcharge the battery, which will shorten the battery life if overcharged regularly. Like Report Judy Jager asked 4 years ago Hi my battery is fully charged and I looked at every wire and can't find any fold, but it wont start:( any idea would be very much appreciated?:) Like Share More 2 answers Henry 4 years ago Hi, to answer your question the problem could be a couple of things. Firstly check the cutout switch on top of the key hasn't tripped, if it has push it back down.If these are Okay lift the mower and see if the blade still turns freely. If everything checks out okay, the battery may need replacing.http://myseattlecarpetcleaning.com/images/compaq-ipaq-pocket-pc-n119-manual.pdf Sometimes with the origional charger the battery can get stuffed if its been left on the charger for a long period. Like Report Gaye 4 years ago It may seem obvious, but did you remember to hold the handles in before pressing the button. Like Report Map asked 4 years ago How do you charge battery. Like Share More 2 answers Henry 4 years ago If you haven't got a charger that's supplied with it undo the screws and remove the end of the battery case. Pull both batteries out a bit and either charge separately with a 12 volt charger, or both together with a 24 volt charger. If using a car charger it's better to use a smart charger so the battery doesn't over charge Like Report Platypup 4 years ago If you do not have the original charger you can use a good car battery charger. You will need a couple of strips of sheet metal cut to size to push into the terminal slots of the battery case to give the charger leads something to clamp on to. The strips may need folding a bit longitudinally to be a snug sliding fit into the slots. Be sure to connect polarity correctly when charging. I use a 12 volt charger so have brought out a small lead through the top of the case connected to the bridging link between the 2 batteries inside the case so I can charge each battery separately without need to open the case. Like Report Jane asked 4 years ago I wonder whether I am able to buy a new key. I took mine out before I went on holiday and have totally forgotten where I have placed it!!! Am I able to purchase another one or does anyone have a spare one that I can buy. Many thanks. Jane Like Share More 5 answers Henry 4 years ago This question was answered in an earlier issue If you can't get a replacement key, from memory you can get a big auto fuse that will fit. Probably from super cheap or other auto electric store. I think it should be about 12 amps but I'm not sure. You will need a fuse as the original key has a cutout button in the top of it for safety Hopes this helps Like Report Platypup 4 years ago There are a couple of these available on ebay under Neuton brand (American name for this lawnmower), part number LEK05. In an emergency a 15 amp glass fuse (3 cm glass tube with metal cap each end) for older model cars will fit nicely and should be available at any auto shop. The only trouble with this is the need to remove the main plastic cover (easily done with a few screws) to reach the fuse holder. If you clear any obstruction to the blades (best remove the key or battery before doing this for safety) and wait about 30 seconds the button can be pushed down and you should be on your way again. Like Report roger 5 years ago Thanks back to the lawns. Forgot the cut out button Like Report Henry 5 years ago As above answer Like Report Ped asked 5 years ago I'm wondering if this mower can mow short since when I do mine, I use level 3, it seems doesn't work. So I could do only half of the lawn. The Motor stopped working. Who has expertise to transfer this experience, I will of course appreciate it. Like Share More 4 answers pharlap61 5 years ago Yes it can mow short if the blades are sharp and you not trying to mow thru thick grass no electric mower will do so, you may have to do it in stages at different heights Like Report Henry 5 years ago The same as above. If the motor won't work you may be able to get a auto electrician to look at it as I think it's just the same as a starter motor in a car. Like Report Ped 5 years ago Thanks for both answers. I appreciate it very much. I found it might be the battery itself run low quicker when I used short cutting. But my husband said this mower is not suppose to do short, which if that's the case I don't think they should put lower level on the mower for your choices. My questions are: (1) is the dramatic difference in noise normal or is some other factor at play (e.g. cutting blade wasn't fitted correctly); (2) is it harming the lawnmower in any way by cutting the grass with the mulching blade rather than the cutting blade. Thanks Like Share More 1 answer paulneri 5 years ago I posted this before I read the other Q and A. In short I didn't know how the mulching blade worked. I do now but I'm still curious about the noise factor. Mowing the lawn with the mulching blade (no plug) is almost silent compared to mowing with the cutting blade. Is that other peoples' experience too. Like Report disel asked 5 years ago My battery has just failed after only 3 and hald years. Like Share More 3 answers John Gray 5 years ago I would be heading to the mower specialist for a diagnosis, it might be as simple as a switch. Like Report pharlap61 5 years ago Is the green led on the handle If no light the terminals have corroded Like Report Platypup 5 years ago There is likely an open circuit somewhere from a broken wire or loose connection. I had this happen when a wire broke inside the plug at the top of the cable that screws into the bottom of the handle assembly. This required a bit of time testing with a multimeter. Once soldered back everything was OK but I have now taped the cable to the side rod to stop it vibrating and happening again. Your problem may be elsewhere however. You will need to have the lawnmower checked by someone familiar with electrical circuits. An electrician, auto-electrician or similar would be suitable and may prove more helpful than a lawnmower mechanic who is unfamiliar with electric lawnmowers. Like Report Mary Squire asked 5 years ago Anyone know where I can find a LEK05 mower key. I just got a EnvirOmower yesterday. What's a mulching key. Like Share More 2 answers Platypup 5 years ago This sounds to be the large, shaped plastic plug that fits into the outlet to the grass catcher when the catcher is removed so the grass cuttings are recycled back to the blades to be rechopped and fall to the ground as mulch. I found this is useful only if the grass is relatively short as the mulching action is ineffective otherwise. Like Report pharlap61 5 years ago Yep its just a plug that fits in the shoot if younwant to mulch but it doesnt really work unless your lawn is kept low Like Report Andy M asked 5 years ago I have had this mower since March 2015 and battery goes flat mowing very small yard. Should the battery be plugged in permanently so you can mow for minutes. Leaving the battery on charge permanently is detrimental to the battery and 12 hours is usually enough to fully charge the battery. I use a quality car battery charger as I found the supplied charger was made cheaply and could potentially reduce battery life if left charging too long. Your battery sounds like it can no longer hold a full charge and will need replacing. The two 12v lead acid batteries in the battery case are readily available through most reputable battery outlets and are not too hard to replace, although you will need a set of assorted screwdriver bits to remove the end screws. Like Report John Gray 5 years ago if you are using the charger that came with the mower do not leave it on charge for more than 24hrs - if it can't last 30mins cutting dry grass after that, you need to have the battery tested by somebody like Battery World. Like Report Peter H asked 5 years ago just brought a new power pack to charge our eco 500 battery not sure how long to charge it red light been on nearly 24 hours and still red can someone help.It does not turn green when the battery pack is fully charged. The light comes on even if the charger is not connected to the mains supply so it is important to check it is plugged into a power point and switched on. I found my original owner's manual from 2008 that says charging will take at least 12 hours. I can see a green light and have charged up the battery. Like Share More 4 answers Platypup 5 years ago If there is a green light on the handle all you have to do is push the button down on the front and while doing this pull up the levers in the handle. While holding the levers the button can then be released. Be sure the rocker switch on the handle is set to mow and not the optional line trimmer. If the motor fails to start after charging the battery then the battery is likely to be dead. This will often happen if the battery is not charged regularly and if it has not been charged for 2 years it most likely will need to be replaced. Like Report pharlap61 5 years ago You push thr middle yellow button in then hold it then pull the lever left or right Like Report buoysngirl 5 years ago I expect from what you say then, that the battery must be dead. It has not been used or charged for over a year and maybe even longer. Thank you for the advise. Like Report View 1 more answer Dave J asked 5 years ago Purchased a Victa Enviromower recently 2nd hand. Was told it was used for about two months and had been stored for six months before I acquired it. In less than 10 minutes, it really lost power. The catcher had hardly any grass in it. first fail. I then left the battery charge for 5 days and tried again the following weekend with a similar result. Does the battery have that short a shelf life. That would mean the price I paid for the mower plus the potential new battery would be slightly discounted to the full price.not quite the bargain I was looking for. Is there anything else I should be checking. What wattage should a fully charged battery be reading if I was to check this at an electronics store. Could the charger be faulty and how could I tell. Like Share More 4 answers Platypup 5 years ago The lead-acid batteries will deteriorate over time the same as a car battery if not used and eventually sulphate build-up on the plates will offer high internal resistance effectively ending the useful life of the battery. The battery case can be opened and the two 12 volt batteries replaced at Battery World cheaper than a new Victor battery and they should also be able to check to old batteries (only one of the two may have failed). The supplied charger is very basic and can could reduce the life of the battery if left on charge too long. Like Report John Gray 5 years ago I'm inclined to think the mower you bought was more than eight months old. Appearance would give you an idea if it has only been used for two months (I don't know of anybody that mows more than once a fortnight so that would mean it has only been used four times). It is not a good idea to leave the battery on charge more than 24hrs although as suggested above, it is wise to get a battery charger rather than a power supply which is all the original Victa item is. I have just purchased a new battery for my enviromower and it's still showing no signs of life at all. I can't see a single light lit at all. I've read reviews about taking the handles apart but this is way beyond my skills. Are there any repairs in Christchurch (NZ). Thanks! Like Share More 3 answers pharlap61 5 years ago Nick Do you no how to use a multimeter i would check the key for continuity first thing and check battery voltage at the terminals on the case at bottom see if it is 24 volts before you do anything else Like Report Platypup 5 years ago You most likely have an open circuit (broken wire or poor electrical contact) somewhere that should be able to be traced and simply fixed by any general electrician or auto-electrician or anyone with knowledge of electrical circuits with simple test equipment such as a multimeter. Hopefully you still have the old battery as it seems the problem may not have been a dead battery and there may still be life in the old battery to use as backup. Test your internet connection To start viewing messages,As I've gotten older I'm finding the battery really heavy and also very difficult to put in place and remove which seems to be due to the thick plastic where the battery sits warping over time. It would be good if I could leave it in the mower while charging, making sure the safety key is removed. ThanksSo as long as it's not closed in it should be ok, I'm sure the manufacturers will say no to cover their butts in case it catches fire or something. I'd do it myself if that means anything.Which charge all the time when driving.Maybe I could find a way to soften the plastic sides of where the battery sits and push back the warped parts.if that makes senseYou can leave the battery in when charging. Replacement 12 volt batteries can be purchased from JayCars and many other sources at a fraction of the price of the original. Just unscrew the end cap of the battery box, and change the batteries. Make sure that the push on terminals are clean, and fitting snugly.I've had a good run of nearly nine years with this battery after learning it needed to be charged for a minimum 24 hours. The original one died after 3 years use due to the distributor's incorrect info advising to charge for only 12 hours which they changed some time after I bought my mower. Best I could get from them at the time was a discounted new battery.I have a Lithium Ion powered Ryobi and can't quite mow my lawn on a single battery. I get 30-45 mins depending how long the grass is. Love the electric mower though, never going back to petrol.Until recently it would comfortably mow my average sized lawn and large berm so around the same time as yours probably in normal conditions. I never let it run down to where it's obviously slowing and they don't like long lush grass, needing a skim off the top and then a re-mow. I recharge it for 24hrs after every mow even during summer growth conditions when the battery would still have quite a lot of charge left and for 36hrs every few months. Hoping to get through the winter with it as is and get new batteries for spring. Victa took over distribution after I bought my mower and I'm not sure whether they are still available. It's probably under powered compared to battery mowers available and the cutting width is a bit narrow. I've only had the blades sharpened once - last year. I wouldn't go back to petrol either.Check out Good Gear Guide's broadband speed test. Achieve a more environmentally friendly lifestyle! I convinced the family that we should make a weekend of it and go to the beach at Ocean Grove and pick up the mower while we were there When I picked it up all was good, the battery was down a bit but a good charge shoul fix that. When I got home I charged it overnight through the on board charger and the next morning I was set to mow the grass. Unfortunantly it didn't go after doing some checks I found that it only had 12volts and not 24volts so I pulled the battery pack apart only to find that one battery had a big split in it. This may of been caused by me leaving the circuit breaker in while I was coming back from OG and while charging it. I have had the mower for over 12 months now and I haven't had to wrestle with the old Rover petrol mower The E-mower is so quite I can mower the grass after the kids have gone to bed. It has enough battery life to mow the whole block in one charge although I usually do it in 2 stages with a charge in between, I don't have time to do it in one go. The only complaint with the E-mower is that the blades don't go to the outside of the wheels as other mowers do but they are about 2-3 inches inside the wheel line, I'll get used to it but I do still miss bits because I usually use the outside of the wheels to line up my mowing strip, it can also make it tricky to mow along the kerb and channel along the nature strips. As it only has a 500 watt motor it can struggle with long thick grass but the height adjustments can cure this. I tend to mower the grass more often than when I had a petrol mower but as it is quite and I dont have to mess around with petrol or try to start a petrol mower it doesn't seem to take any longer. I am very pleased with the mower and wish more people would have them even if its just for the quiteness. Now I just need to find a cordless wiper sniper Does anyone else have a cordless elec mower I'd really like one of these. They were pretty slow, but who cares.they mow the lawn without any human interaction. They're very expensive though, and I'd be worried about the someone grabbing and running away it. max My victa agent siad that a lot of people ony get 2 years out of a battery pack but mine is still going strong. The owners manual states to always keep the battery charged. So as soon as I finish mowing I charge it. And if its been sitting for a few weeks I charge it again before use. Its a back pack type of arrangement using a wide wooden board as a frame. The car battery is heavy but it works well. I get about 20 to 30 minutes of use which is enough to do everything. The Ryobi has good power and can even handle 600 cm high grass. The motor is up on the handel end (like a petrol one), not down on the ground end, as many others. I have had some problems with its switch though so I ended up replacing it with another one. I have had one issue with it mechanically, having to replace the battery after the fourth year. It even has the original blades. Mowing the lawn (couch) around my home on average takes 30 minutes, the mower handles this with ease and is quite in doing so. When I first used the mower the next door neighbour came over to take a look as he was inquisitive about the strange swishing noise coming over his fence. He now has one. If you buy one of these units I would suggest following the instructions to the letter. It is nothing to keep the mower clean and to put it on charge after using. Like anything that is new, it does take a little getting used to as it is much lighter than a conventional combustion powered mower. The catcher is somewhat smaller than other catchers. It will struggle with over grown grass however it will manage. I had an at home demonstration before I purchased. I intentionally let the lawn overgrow for the demo. The Enviromower struggled but it got the job done. Would I recommend buying one. If you like to hear the birds chirping whilst you mow and don't want the hassle of mixing fuels and oils, then yeah, I would recommend buying one. But then I would also get an at home demonstration as well. In the UK I would say that electric lawnmowers (240V or 12V) easily have the majority of the market. Does anyone know much about the electrical circuit on these mowers. I'm thinking I might be able to bypass the onboard charger as I don't use it but not sure what to do about the safety release and the motor brake. Any electrical guru's in EM land? I haven't seen one, but I would think it already has such a switch. You need to make sure it can handle the switching current, otherwise you'll need a contactor or relay for the make and break. Of course I am assuming it is either on or off, a DC motor with no fancy speed controller, or other electronics for self-driving etc. A stray stone can do a lot of damage. We mow the 3 sections with the 8hp honda Hut push mower. It's a heavy mower for a push along with some grades to the areas to mow.
